My first big event of the season, being a Premier calendar event.
I was suprised how easy it was compared to difficulties of the previous
low key Hillingdon event of the previous Sunday.
Numbers again, in
the wrong position.
No problem in the Archer, apart from 2 dodgy
numbers which I still managed to suss out, I placed the entire field
within 10 minutes.
The spread sheet I received was poor, with number,
riders name and club all in one single cell. So I spent a hour having
to re-type it in our format.
The biggest problem on the day was the weather,
extreme cold, hail showers and high winds gusting. The race finished
at 4pm, and I arrived at 12.30, but to be honest, I could have arrived
at 2 with no problem at all and saved myself shivering for the amount
of time I was there.
You only get one chance with the Archer as the
riders only come through the line once. Trevor Read was chief Comm
who I know well and I like working with him.
Some pictures attached showing the inside of
the van, with my cross bike parked in there. Not quite as tidy as
Bob's but it looks worse than it is, I've everything packed in boxes
so easy to put away. Anyway, it always takes less than 15 minutes
to pack up and go, so that's good enough for me.
