I had never done a 'proper' Nocturne event before, so this was a first for me.
It was a great promotion from Face Partnership who put on the Revolution meetings at Manchester Velodrome, with expertise from Cycling Development North West, and in a superb location in front of the Lowry Centre at Salford Quays. The last time I went there, ships were in the docks!
Here are a few images of the evening. ![]()

Bring on the gold! On stage in the picture above left are four of our gold medallists from Beijing. Chris Hoy, Geraint Thomas, Ed Clancy and Paul Manning. The image to the right is Chris Hoy doing a 500 metre ride on the rollers.

Now to the racing. On the right is the finish of the support event, where I got great pictures even though the light had started to go.
Nice close finish - I like them.
Beware - the next picture (below) contains flash photography!
It's the finish of the main event and I was still getting pretty good pics under floodlights.
We get used to seeing the white vertical lines from the flash guns of the press, but the entire photofinish picture was littered with them here.
