A
few pieces of helpful advice which are worthy of sharing. Do you have
any more which would help the rest of us? If so, let's have them here.
Filming
Primes
Bob
Pinkerton
"When
filming a prime, always take a few more riders than are actually
needed for points. There's a chance that riders placed in a prime
may pack or are disqualified. In that case the judges will want
to know who else to give the prime awards to."

Criteriums
John
Purdy
"Film
the entire field with a couple of laps to go. No need to look at
the picture, just save it. Any problem numbers in the final image
may be sorted by referring to the earlier picture. It might also
help the judges in trying to sort out lapped riders etc."

Ethernet
cables
Knocker
Shields
"To
stop the little locking bar breaking off on the Ethernet cable plugs.
I bought two inline connectors. After dismantling the cable from
the camera and the laptop I plug it into the connectors which keeps
them safe when coiled up."

Getting a readable image
John
Purdy
"If it's a sunny day you might find it difficult to eliminate the glare which can cause the riders' jerseys and numbers to be unreadable. First, try adjusting the white balance which might help. If that still does not work, make the image a bit too dark. You can enhance the picture later to bring up the detail, but you won't be able to get rid of any glare by making a bright image darker."

produced a great little document to send to race organisers. It lets
them know how riders need to fix their numbers so that they can be
seen by the camera. |

the Lynx website. How to get a better camera alignment with the finishing

would benefit. |

the liberty of adding one of Tom's pictures to highlight how it fits

| Repairing
camera lens clip The
lens retaining clips on the cameras are pretty flimsy and tend to
break. Bob has looked at the problem and here's his technique for
repairing them. |
