I have seen some weird and wonderful finish locations over the years, but this one is something else! The Tour of the Reservoir in County Durham had a new sponsor, Northumbria Water and not only did the circuit go round Derwent Reservoir but the finish was on the top of the dam. Having said that, it made for good photofinish pictures with a narrow road and the camera perched right on the kerb looking down at a steep angle.

Of course this promotion hosted the World Hay Rolling Championships, and the winners are shown in the last picture. British Cycling's very own Peter Miller together with one of the marshalls came in a long way ahead of the other competitors.
