I make no apology for repeating some of the views from this race. It is probably the most spectacular finish area of all the races we do on a regular basis, and this year the weather was very kind to us.

It was a glorious sunny day which you may think is ideal for photofinish, but think again!

Here's why it wasn't a picnic (below). The sun was hitting the riders from behind and on the far side of the road, so the photofinish picture (left) is pretty much a white-out.

Our new video camera saved the day and stopped it being a complete humiliation. Number as clear as day on the right.
