Lying to the east of Rochdale Road and running roughly north west to south east, Tong Lane begins in Bacup and vaguely follows a meandering route until it meets Rochdale Road at Trough Gate, Britannia.

With few cars using the narrow lane, it's a great route for walkers, cyclists and horse riders to get away from the traffic and enjoy some some good views of the surrounding countryside.

The main picture at the top of the page was taken close to the Bacup end of Tong Lane, and the hills in the distance follow Todmorden Road, the main route over to Yorkshire.

The smaller picture (above) shows the track down to Daisy Isle Farm, the buildings of which can just be made out behind the trees.
